On March 18, 2006, a Palestinian and Israeli Interfaith team made world history when it summited Mt. Everest. It proclaimed peace
from the top of the world. www.everestpeaceproject.org

Two of our volunteers, an Israeli and Palestinian, decided to mirror the Everest Peace Climb with a Palestinian-Israeli climb
of San Gabriel Peak near Mt. Wilson in the Los Angeles area.

On the eve of his climb, the Everest team leader, Lance Trumbull sent us this e-mail:

I have been packing all week - I just sent 1500 pounds of gear to Nepal and I leave tomorrow (Saturday night).
Our expedition starts soon. Hold good thoughts for us! And good luck on your climb!

Take care,     Lance

On May 21, two dozen Association volunteers, including 2 Palestinians and 5 Israelis, summited near Mt. Wilson.  They
were greeted by a buffet brunch of bagels with lox and pita with hummus.

Afterwards, the two leaders of the Mt. Wilson climb wrote to our climbers :

You are a living example of how peace can become reality in the Middle East and on this planet.  It was by far the
most fun hike with the most important purpose and I hope that this will inspire more communication, better reality
and increase affinity here and in other parts of the world.

Thank you for your participation, with no exception you are great -- Body and Spirit.
