In this issue, I’d like to share with you some e-mails that I found
thrilling. They were sent at the end of January between the Palestinian
Ministry of Education and our Executive Vice President.
Developing a stronger relationship with the Palestinian Ministry of
Education is only one of our achievements in 2003. With the support of your
donations, we also launched classroom workshops on The Way to Happiness®
booklet in Israeli schools.
Our biggest achievement of 2003 was the distribution of over 1,275,000 The
Way to Happiness booklets to Palestinians and Israelis. If you want some

brother Issa,
I
thank you and all the group for their great support.
I
haven't told you about the great effect of the [Way to Happiness]
booklet on the decision makers of the Palestinian People and also the
Leaders. They ALL want peace. Even … leaders . …By
this we can achieve justice, freedom, peace, security and happiness for all.
All
the people whom I gave the booklet in the ministry [Palestinian Ministry of
Education], and many others outside it aspire for living peacefully and
happily.
And
we will achieve it in sha' Allah [God willing].
Today,
I made another ally, who was a barrier before. I explained to him the value
of The Way to Happiness, and gave him a lesson about the barriers of
learning. He promised to cooperate with me very much. I asked him to think
of the best way to provide schools with Arabic and English dictionaries.
Do
you know Brother Issa? I'm so grateful to you . For you changed me. You made
me turn all my opponents into cooperative allies. Is it your book, or your
advice? I congratulate you, for you've succeeded.

Thank you so much dear sister for these very warm and wonderful words. Both
the booklet and I only bring out the good that already exists in people, God
almighty created this good in every person, we just need to bring it out
into the warm light of truth.

School Workshops Launched in 2003
In 2003, eight of our Tel Aviv volunteers began a new program --- delivering
workshops on The Way to Happiness precepts in Israeli schools and
summer camps. The workshops involve participants. Children come up
with examples from their own lives of times when a precept was followed or
not followed – and what the happy or unhappy consequences were. They also
act out precepts in skits.
Summer camps and schools have responded with enthusiasm and are added to the
waiting list for workshops. We have
received endorsements like the following from over 50 schools:

me on behalf of the teachers and students of our school, to thank you
from the bottom of our heart for the informative lecture….”

And
another school, “The students’ collaboration was excellent….We all
hope that the co-operation between us will continue in the future….”
In 2003, the Association for Prosperity and Security in the Middle East gave
over 300 workshops for over 15,000 children and staff.

1,275,000
The Way to Happiness Booklets Distributed
The year 2003 was a year of huge expansion for the Association for Peace
& Understanding in the Middle East. By the end of the year, your
generous donations had funded another 1,275,000 The Way to Happiness
booklets for Israelis and Palestinians! That’s 1,920,000

Challenges
in 2004
The Palestinian Ministry of Education plans to implement The Way to
Happiness booklets as part of its public school curriculum, and has
requested an additional 1,000,000 booklets for all its school children in
2004. Our Israeli sister organization in Tel Aviv has also requested a
million booklets. 2004 is going to be a challenging year!
