we live in violence, our lives will be bad, bitter
and damned.”

That’s
what one Israeli school child learned in a workshop
on The Way to Happiness® booklet
delivered by our Israeli Chapter,
The Association for Prosperity and Security in the
Middle East. Here
are some more answers by Israeli school children as
to what they learned in The Way to Happiness
workshop:
-
“When
someone hits you, you shouldn’t hit them back.
But use your mouth to talk and not to hit or
curse.”
-
“Violence
brings down the happiness. Then there is no
happiness.”
-
“I
learned to give, to treat those around me with
respect. And if I give from myself, then I will
receive from others.”
-
“If
we restrain or control ourselves and be
responsible for our actions, we will have a
better world. Thank you!!”

The Way to Happiness Workshops in One Month!
Volunteers
for The Association for Prosperity and Security in
the Middle East drove the length and breadth of
Israel in July delivering workshops on The Way to
Happiness booklet – 116 of them! This is over
4 workshops a day, 6 days a week – a Highest Ever
in one month!
Most
of the workshops were given to children in summer
camps. Workshops are delivered in both Hebrew and
Arabic. Workshop leaders play games, tell stories
and lead the children in skits – all to bring home
the understanding that happiness is made possible by
acting in accordance with values.

Fundraiser
in Hollywood. Featured speakers were Wendy
Honnor (wearing her Freedom Medal) and
next to her, Mazen Abu-Hijleh. Both are
L.A. volunteers who had just returned from
successful trips to the Middle East.

Over
120 supporters attended a fundraisers in Hollywood
on August 27th.
After
a delightful Middle East feast out on the patio, our
hall was awash with laughter at West Bank Story
– a short award-winning film that succeeds at the
impossible – finding the humor in the
Palestinian–Israeli conflict. More info at www.westbankstory.com
Two
of our volunteers who had just returned from the
Middle East spoke from the heart, and supporters
donated generously and ended their evening with
coffee and desserts – featuring the famed honey
baklava of Lacy Mitri, volunteer.
Clearwater
held its fundraiser September 1, wowing supporters
with the video of the Hollywood speeches – thanks
to our steadfast videophotographer, Mike Rubio.
Clearwater supporters also donated generously.
And they talked on past midnight about the potential
for creating a permanent branch of the Association
in Clearwater.

Palestinian
Volunteer Comments on his Visit to Israel
“It
is beautiful here… It’s amazing... There is so
much affinity, high morale -- it’s infectious.
I’m tearing up here writing this. It’s such a
beautiful place here. The people are so nice and
warm and many of them want peace. I’ve been to
three restaurants and every time I left the
waitresses came and gave me hugs and were so
friendly.” –-- Mazen Abu-Hijleh
